Finishing Grad School

Alright Friends:

Many of you may know that I am in the last few weeks of graduate school. This is both amazing and super terrifying. I am very excited to finally be done with school and I can stop saying "you can call me future doctor malcolm" and now I can just say "yes, it is Doctor Malcolm, get it right."

But so much of the fear comes from trying to get all of my writing done and in order and correct and still trying to eat well and loose weight. Apparently, there are two paths for the scale to take at the end of grad school. I am evidently one of those who is going to get fat. Thanks for that ice cream, cookies, and candy. Let's get real I am a Southern Girl who loves to eat, just about everything.

I am looking forward to moving to Dallas in five weeks. I have no idea where I am going to live, hopefully tomorrows post will be about that adventure. But I know that Lily and I are going to move to the Big-D and live it up. I am ready for cowboy boots and southern gentlemen (really just one man, but I am ready to shop around). I find my hair getting bigger all the time, now that I have realized that I am moving home to Texas. I guess it is true what they say, if you every leave Texas it is only for a short time... then you race home.

My goal is to write everyday until I move to Dallas and the more about the new job and the new living locations... I am just so stinking excited. Who knows... maybe this time it will all work out.

Looks like I should get back to writing and formatting my files.

Let's try this again

Howdy,

So I clearly tried this once before to no avail but now is a new year and it is the time for starting new things. I would love to say that I am going to write in this often but I think I will just attempt to share the fun things that happen and some of my most favorite recipes.

A few tidbits about myself: I am in graduate school for chemistry, still single (much to the amusement of my friends and family), I have a wonderful dog, and I love to cook. So I think I will share my date (yes, both the good and the bad) as well as some of the yummy things that I whip us in my kitchen. I will attempt to not have too much of a venting session here since I am unsure who will read this.

Well since this is the introduction I should just let this go and then think about what I will be putting in my next post. I am hopeful that it will be something fun! But let's get real it will probably be about science.

Until next time,

H

The first of hopefully many...

Well I have finally decide to add a little something more to my life by creating a blog. In this blog I hope to be both charming and witty, but those of you who know me know I am in truth none of these things. I will also attempt to chronicle my very adventures in graduate school.

My new goals:
-do something creative every week
-meet new people
-find a new hobby
-keep in touch with old friends
-no longer care what others think, this will be a hard one

I know this is short but at the moment I have nothing else to say. I should be working and let's face it when papa bear (the boss) is away I don't really want to do work, so I started a blog. In this I intend on putting my thoughts down and hopefully making some sense of the things going on in my life.

Enjoy the many thoughts and often ramblings of me.
